The Complexity of Fire Horse Energy-something for everyone!
An insider perspective on how the charging, strive more messaging leaves some feeling exhausted before they opened the gate!
In a global women’s Circle honoring the start of the Fire Horse year and all the energies surrounding it; a young mother spoke up. With a baby on her hip and amidst all that life demands she had taken the time to join the Circle. She shared that the messages surrounding the Fire Horse energy felt exhausting and demanding. Push through, do more, take the reins, etc. ; did not feel aligned or helpful for her nervous system as she was exhausted with a full load already upon her.
As a lifelong horsewoman with an Equine Science Degree and an Equine Business; I agree that there is always complexity in the energies we are in and it is a good reminder that we all have different needs at any given moment in time. May I suggest some aspects of horses that may feel more empowering and helpful to those not feeling connected to the more forceful messaging. Fun fact: horses are rarely sprinting all over the place. They enjoy eating and napping in a safe herd environment. Horses crave synergy with life, clear boundaries and safety in numbers. A horses’ nervous system does not thrive in anxiety, confusion or overwhelm. Whose does?
The heart of the horse exudes a huge energy field that mirrors back to us what needs balance. That is why we feel connected and seen when we hang out with them. Now, when I open the gate or one of them opens a gate it is pure Joy and Freedom as they act like they are getting away with something. I can hear them giggle as they bolt through and run free. So maybe one message is to feel free and joyful when the opportunity arises. Freedom to be safe, strong, fast and giddy in the full expression of yourself is an aspect of Horse Energy.
Let’s do a little exercise together.
“Breathe in and out deeply. Imagine you are a Wild Horse grazing with your herd on a huge plane of grass. Good visibilty and safety in numbers. The sun warms your back and joints as the fragrant breeze softly blows over the tops of the grass and bushes. Feel the Freedom and Contentment of just Being a Horse. You are confident in your instincts, strength and speed should the need arise or the urge hits to enjoy a good run.”
How do you feel this energy can serve you now to face your human life?
Now to address the Fire aspect of this energy. Fire can warm, soothe, cook, release, cleanse, cauterize, purify and give hope among so many other things. What do you need Fire to be for you right now? Horses conserve their energy while being strong, awe-inspiring, beautiful and so much more. You are all of this as well! Horses enjoy running and playing when the mood strikes to keep them conditioned for when the need to escape is required. They truly hope for the best and only know how to just Be themselves.
I see this Fire Horse Energy as a Heart Activation for the world. We are being encouraged to opt-out of all that doesn’t feed our souls. Remove yourself from all that hurts your heart. Find your herd for safety in numbers. Enjoy the sunshine, good food and naps! When you feel like it; RUN, BUCK, SNORT, AND FART like someone left the gate open OR you undid the latch yourself! It’s little sweeter when you get the gate open. Free yourself the way horses embrace responsive living to opportunities.
Claim what works for you this year. Stop giving energy to anything that causes you pain, anxiety and disregulation. Do less. BE in touch with your Fire Horse Heart Spirit. How does that feel?
